Minister : Holding Cultural Week A New Chapter In Iran-Tunisia Ties

Tehran, Nov 7, IRNA – Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance called holding cultural week of Tunisia in Tehran a new chapter in developing ties between the two countries. Speaking in the inauguration ceremony of Tunisia cultural week here on Tuesday afternoon, Seyed Mohammad Hosseini compared cultural relations with diplomacy, adding that if a dispute occurs between the two countries in political issues, culture can connect them. He referred to old cultural relations between Iran and Tunisia and said that many delegations of artists have traveled to Tunisia and Iranian Quran reciters stood on the first rank in competitions recently held in Tunisia. The minister continued that there are many cultural and art grounds for interaction between Iran and Tunisia and both countries can promote their mutual interaction. He expounded on media cooperation and said that Tunisian media can use Iranian cultural products, because Iranian movie and TV products have conformity with Tunisian beliefs and cultural issues. Referring to holding movie festival in Tunisia, Hosseini said that Iranian artists will attend the event, meanwhile an agreement will be signed by both ministers in the field of cinema, which means that a movie will be produced by joint venture. He expressed hope that cultural interaction between Iran and Tunisia develop more and more. Tunisia cultural week kicked off here on Tuesday in the presence of Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Minister of Culture of Tunisia Mahdi Mabrouk, Head of Culture and Islamic Communication Organization and ambassadors of both countries./end
