Minister Inspects Central Java Flood Victims

Semarang, C Java, Jan 29 (Antara) - Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono is on a two-day visit to Central Java from Wednesday to Thursday to obtain first-hand information about flood victims in the districts of Demak, Kudus, and Jepara. "Agung will inspect the flood-hit areas in the three districts and deliver humanitarian aid to the flood victims," local community figure Bowo Sidik Pangarso said here on Wednesday. Bowo, a Golkar Party politician, noted that he had accompanied Agung Laksono during the visit to find the best possible solution to resolving the problems created by floods, which hit Central Java recently. He confirmed that Agung will inspect the flood-hit areas in Central Java to determine the cause of the floods and to find a solution to prevent such disasters in the future. "Our main purpose now is to immediately manage the floods and ease the burden and misery of the victims," Bowo said.
