Minister: Iran becomes ITU member

Tehran, Nov 5, IRNA – Iran has become member of The International Telecommunication Union, Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology said. 'Honored to be elected as a @ITU's #Plenipot council member. 'Connecting the World TOGETHER' is imperative, and unilateral impositions by a few are not effective anymore. 'Cooperation and empathy always wins. It is not a delusion; it is the reality,' Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi tweeted on Monday. Meanwhile, in a separate Instagram post, he referred to a message received from Indonesia telecommunication minister in which he congratulated Iran membership in ITU. Azari Jahromi also referred to ITU secretary general opinion about Iran who said Iran will become member of the body high votes. The International Telecommunication Union, originally the International Telegraph Union, is a specialized agency of the United Nations that is responsible for issues that concern information and communication technologies.
