Minister of Media: 800 media personnel from outside KSA and 151 media institutions and channels to cover Hajj rituals

Jeddah, Dhu-AlHijjah 06, 1439, August 17, 2018, SPA -- The Minister of Media Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad has expressed his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, for continuing efforts of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in providing best services and security for all those who come to this blessed land, in addition to harnessing all resources and potentials to facilitate the performance of Hajj and access to Holy Sites for all Muslims without any discrimination. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomes all Muslims in the world to perform this religious rite, stressing its categorical rejection of attempts to politicize or use Hajj for purposes of disturbing this worship. This came during a visit to the headquarters of the Ministry, Commissions of radio and television and the Saudi Press Agency and information centers in Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina, to be briefed on special preparations for receiving local and international media, and to provide appropriate mechanisms and equipment to transmit this great scene to all over the world. Dr. Al-Awwad pointed out that the Ministry this year has equipped seven media centers in Makkah and holy sites to serve its guests from journalists and media personnel from inside and outside the Kingdom, and provided them with all the needs of media personnel of press services, technology, communication networks, computers and studios. The Minister noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is hosting this year more than 800 media personnel from outside of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to cover Hajj rituals and highlight them in a professional manner comparable with the status of this great ritual and the Kingdom's efforts in hosting this great number of pilgrims and facilitating their performance of this ritual, in addition to the facilities being provided for 151 media institutions and channels of 27 international media delegations, while 6 official broadcastings and 10 international broadcastings in ten languages provide news bulletins and daily programs on Hajj, and 16 digital publishing channels address the world directly in six languages, working around the clock to cover this Hajj season in a creative, fast and innovative way. Dr. Al-Awwad noted that the Hajj sublime message affirms the discourse of moderation and renunciation of extremism and terrorism and promoting the idea of humanity of Islam, and that Hajj is a platform for transmitting the message of peace and security to all over the world.
