Minister receives German envoy

Manama, May 24 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received German Ambassador Alfred Simms-Protz and praised the strong ties between the two friendly countries.  The two sides reviewed important projects implemented in the electricity and water and sustainable energy sectors, including the national energy efficiency plan, the national renewable energy plan and a project to build a 100-megawatt solar power plant. Investment opportunities for German companies in this and other projects were also discussed. The ambassador expressed pleasure to see the progress Bahrain had made in the electricity, water and renewable energy sectors and expressed the desire of German companies to participate in these projects according to available opportunities. The ambassador thanked the minister and officials for the welcome and the hospitality and stressed on his readiness to strengthen the existing cooperation to serve all interests and aspirations.
