Ministry of Economy Cracks Down on Law Violating Shops

Doha, November 29 (QNA) - Judicial control inspectors of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce have found violation of laws by 24 shops during sudden inspection campaigns in November. The violations included practice of activities not listed in the license, expiry of the commercial license, irregularities in the safety and security requirements and irregularities in the construction specifications. The Ministry also registered 21 irregularities cases, and issued notices obligates violating shops to amend their conditions in business licenses and records. The Ministry's inspection campaigns aims to monitor shops and hotels adherence to laws and regulations governing the practice of commercial activities and to adjust the detection of irregularities and abuses. The campaigns which covered most areas of the Doha included various commercial activities in Souq Al-Ali shops, Al-Rawnaq Complex, Lulu Hypermarket, shops in Um Al-Domm Street, shops in Al-Rayyan and Al-Markhiyah, the Landmark, and hotels. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce called on all traders and shopkeepers to adhere to regulations and applicable laws. It also called on all citizens and residents to report any abuses or irregularities concerning the registration and business licenses through its communication channels. (QNA)
