Ministry of Economy to Launch Four Agricultural Projects

Doha, May 03 (QNA) - The Ministry of Economy announced Sunday that it, in coordination with the Ministry of Environment, will launch four agricultural projects. The projects will be made available to the private sector and will target producing a combined 80 tons a year for the four projects combined, to be reached within 18 months of establishment. The combined area of the project will be 4 kilometers, with each project having a total area of 100 hectares. They will all be Greenhouses projects. The initiative is part of the Ministry's commitment to the wise use of resources. The projects aim to decrease the gap between the demand and supply of high-quality agricultural process. They fit directly with Qatar National Vision 2030 which seeks a diversified and sustainable economy. The ministry's initiatives represent an important part of encouraging the private sector to take part in food security-related projects. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce is working with other state authorities on facing all challenges related to food security. Additionally, the ministry works on finding more sustainable ways of using natural resources. (QNA)
