Ministry of Education, ExxonMobil Qatar Sign Partnership Agreement

Doha, December 01 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education signed a partnership agreement with ExxonMobil Qatar, to support energy laboratories at two new science and technology schools. HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, said that the ministry is setting measures to increase the percentage of students enrolled in secondary education programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics specializations. Therefore, the project of establishing science and technology schools is one of the most important one that directly achieve this goal and the Qatar National Vision 2030, which is based on building the economy knowledge and a new generation of scientists and researchers. For her part, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Affairs Fawzia Al Khater explained that the existing partnership between the Ministry and ExxonMobil Qatar is one of the strongest partnerships that have resulted in successful and fruitful projects, expressing pride in this cooperation, which is directly in the interest of students in Qatar. In turn, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Dominic Genetti confirmed that the company will sponsor the energy laboratory in both new schools, similar to its contribution to the first school, stressing at the same time the company's commitment to support science, technology, engineering and mathematics learning STEM, pointing out that this agreement represents a model of how to work with partners to provide high-quality educational experiences in these areas. Moreover, Vice-President and Director of Government and Public Affairs Saleh Saad Al Mana, indicated that this agreement is an important step in ExxonMobil Qatar's long-standing partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, it also supports the work to develop learning and teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics majors in Qatar.
