Missing Malaysian Hiker: Family Appeals For Experienced Trekkers To Assist In SAR

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 (Bernama) -- Experienced local trekkers and those from abroad are requested to voluntarily assist in the search and rescue (SAR) of Malaysian hiker Dennis Lee Thian Poh, who went missing at the Annapurna hiking circuit in Nepal on April 5. The family's spokesperson said for several days, independent SAR teams assisted by the Nepalese authorities had conducted the search in the area but had yet to find any clue to the whereabouts of the missing man. "The teams are now focusing their search efforts in the area between Khobra and Bayali. "As it is now the ninth day since Dennis went missing and the weather conditions in the search area are expected to worsen over the next few days with possible snowfall, we desperately need as many support teams on the ground to widen the search as the next few days will be critical," she told Bernama when contacted, here, Monday. She said as time was of essence, the family was very anxious that Dennis be found as soon as possible.
