Moderate quake hits Thai South, no damage is reported

BANGKOK, January 16 (TNA) - A moderate earthquake struck the Thai South on early Thursday afternoon, but there were no reports of casualties or any damage. The National Disaster Warning Center (NDWC) reported that the 4.0-magnitude quake jolted Thailand's southern Surat Thani Province at 0:18pm, with its epicenter located in the Khao Sok National Park in Baantakhun District, about 20 kilometres from Ratchaprapa Dam or Cheow Lan Dam. Local officials confirmed that the earthquake had no impact on the dam.(TNA)
