MONGOLIAN AMBASSADOR ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL MINING DISCUSSION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador of Mongolia to the Kingdom United N.Tulga Thursday took part in a briefing and panel discussion themed "New Silk Road: Opportunity for Mining Service Providers" in London, UK. Ambassadors of countries where the old Silk Road passed–Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Mongolia--attended the forum organized by the Victorian Government of Australia, in partnership with the New Silk Road Forum, a non-profit, self-funded organization which seeks to promote the development of links between governments, international financial institutions, corporates and professionals of various disciplines within the "New Silk Road" countries. The panel discussion was addressed to the growth of the growth of the mining sector and supply chain needs for emerging economies in Central Asia and the Middle East and opportunities for mining services providers in these jurisdictions. At the panel discussion, Mr Tulga briefed on Mongolia’s policies on foreign investments and mining activities, government regulations, actions and sector trends. The gathered were interested in Mongolia’s new law adjustment on investments, its stability, stable tax environment for investors, and long term projects and cooperation on infrastructure, energy, mineral sectors between Mongolia and regional Countries. In organizing the event, a valuable support was made by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Rio Tinto, Ashurst and Aconex.
