Mongolian delegation participates in 10th UN-REDD meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia’s delegation led by J.Batbold, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Green Development are participating in the 10th UN-REDD Programme Policy Board meeting. It is taking place in Lombok city of Indonesia on 26-27 June. During the meeting, Mongolian delegation will meet with representatives of donor countries and make a presentation of Mongolian activity for the forest sector's reform, exchange their view on issues of possibilities to render financial and methodical assistances in preparing and implementing appropriate strategy and plan, as well as more expand the bilateral relations. In the 10th UN-REDD Programme Policy Board meeting are participating a representatives from partner countries, donors to the Multi-Partner Trust Fund, civil society, Indigenous Peoples and the three Participating UN Organizations (FAO, UNDP and UNEP). The UN-REDD Programme is the United Nations collaborative initiative on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD) in developing countries. The Programme was launched in 2008 and builds on the convening role and technical expertise of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
