MONGOLIAN FOLK ART CONCERT IN INDONESIA

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A concert of Mongolian folk arts was staged on August 3-4 in Surabaya city, East Java province of Indonesia. Organized and sponsored by Chandra Gozali, the Honorary Consul of Mongolia, the performance attracted 300 people, including Mr B.Ganbold, a director of the Asian Department of Mongolia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ch.Battomor, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Indonesia; diplomats of Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs; representatives of dipmissions in Jakarta and Indonesian businessmen. The Mongolian artists presented to the gathered Mongolian short and long songs, khoomii (throat singing), folk dance and contortion. A photo exhibition was mounted during the event to propagandize our nature, traditions, nomadic lifestyle. During the event, the Medal of 100th anniversary of Mongolia's Contemporary Diplomatic Service was bestowed upon Mr. Gozali for his contribution to developing of the Mongolia-Indonesia ties in art and cultural sectors.
