Mongolian railway development issues to be discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A scientific conference themed "Developmental issues of Mongolian railways" will run at the State House Wednesday. This measure is to be co-organized by a parliamentary working group in charge of transit transportation and logistics, the Institute of International Studies at the Academy of Sciences, Mongolia’s Association of Railways, and the University of Cambridge. Both Mongolian and foreign scholars and experts will deliver reports with topics "Present situation of transportation and logistics in Mongolia, future development", "New great construction in Mongolian railways", "Developmental and reforming issues of Ulaanbaatar Railways" and "Mongolian geological space, advantages of developing transit transportation, its challenges". Tendencies of the Mongolian railways and connecting them with related projects of the neighbor countries will be discussed as well. Headed by G.Batkhuu MP, the parliamentary working group for transit transportation and logistics was set up on July 10 this year aimed to increase railway, road and airway freight and passenger transit-transportation, to create a unified logistic network of transportation, to work out a general policy on pipelines for oil, gas, communications and electricity.
