MONGOLIAN WINS GOLD AT INT'L MATH OLYMPIAD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A Mongolian boy E.Torbat has won a gold medal in the 53rd International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) which ran on July 4-16 in Mar del Plata, Argentina. He has worked out the problems with 94.15 per cent. Mongolia was represented at this Olympiad by six pupils. Ch.Zolboo and B.Bat-Orgil won bronze medals, other three got honorable mentions. As the team results, Mongolia took 43rd place. This gold medal is the second one won by Mongolia. The 53rd IMO took place with participation of 548 pupils from 100 countries. The Republic of Korea was the leader at this year's IMO, followed by China and the USA. B.Khuder
