Mongolist Konagaya Yuki receives award

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolist Konagaya Yuki has been awarded the Japanese "Yellow Ribbon" medal of honor of 2013. Konagaya Yuki arrived in Mongolia in 1978 becoming the first Japanese women to study. Since then she has been engaged in the Mongol studies . She graduated from the Department of History of Faculty of Letters at Kyoto University in 1983. At present, she is working as Professor at the Center for Research Development, National Museum of Ethnology of Japan. She established a nongovernmental organization "Mongol partnership institute" in 2001, organized an event for helping Mongolian children. She has presented 1,527 chalkboards to countryside schools. She has written many books including "The 20th century for Mongolia", has been researching Mongolia's socialist reforms.
