More that $24 million was spent on youth-related projects in Azerbaijan over five years

Baku, February 1, AZERTAC “More that $24 million was spent on youth-related projects in Azerbaijan over the five years,” Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Azad Rahimov told the UN Press Service as he attended the Youth Forum in the UN headquarters in New York. The main topic of the meeting participated by representatives of youth and ministers from 70 countries is the role of youth in combating poverty. “We are proud that the Youth Fund under the President of Azerbaijan Republic carries out very active role. This year alone nearly $3 million was spent on thousands of youth-related projects. Our projects are divided into several categories,” said Azad Rahimov. He noted that successful policy is being carried out for involving young volunteers in Azerbaijan. “We have hosted grand events like the European Games in 2015, Formula 1 and the World Chess Olympiad in 2016. This year we will host the World Scout Youth Forum. Such great projects provide an opportunity to unite the youth and volunteer movements.”
