More than 300,000 migrant workers register in Thailand

BANGKOK, July 30 (TNA) - Over 300,000 migrant workers have legally registered at the Thai Ministry of Labour's one stop service (OSS) centres nationwide. Official statistics, released by the Ministry of Labour on Wednesday, showed a total of 378,444 migrant workers have already registered under the Thai army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO)'s policy on regulating migrant workers as of July 28, 2014, most of whom are Cambodians at 185,757, followed by Myanmar and Lao nationals at 137,312 and 55,375 respectively. Among the total number, 179,653 migrant workers have registered at the OSS centres in Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Trat, Surin, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Phra Ayutthaya, Rayong, Songkhla, Samut Prakan and Surat Thani Provinces, while 101,475 of them have registered at six OSS centres in Bangkok and 45,752 of them have registered at the OSS centres in 16 seaside provinces.
