More bodies in Phuket boat capsize found

PHUKET, July 10 (TNA) - Two more bodies in the Phuket boat accident were found on a beach of Phi Phi Island, raising the death toll to 46 while one person is still missing. So far, the police questioned 50 witnesses and pressed charges against two boat captains and a Chinese man, who is the manager of the tour company. The Anti Money Laundering Office is set to freeze the bank accounts of two tour operators, whose boats - the Phoenix and the Serenata capsized off Phuket last Thursday. The police have also searched tour companies at 11 locations in Phuket which were linked to the operation of the two boats in a fresh crackdown on using Thai nominees to operate tour businesses for Chinese investors. Deputy tourist police chief Pol Maj Gen Surachate Hakparn said that such accidents, related to the proxy owners must not happen again. (TNA)
