More charge likely for live streaming attacker

BANGKOK, April 24 (TNA) - Police may file more charge for a man, who brutally assaulted his girlfriend and the attack was broadcast live on his Facebook page on Sunday evening. Police arrested Chaichana Sirichart, 25, at the scene in the apartment in Bung Khum area after being alerted by netizens. He has been detained for questioning. Initially, he confessed to hurting his girlfriend, claiming that she was cheating on him. Deputy national police chief Pol Gen Weerachai Songmetta visited Chaichana’s girlfriend at hospital. He said she had been often attacked by her boyfriend for eight months in relationship. Now, she is in stable condition but needs to remain in hospital. The deputy police chief later went to the scene at the apartment, where tools used to hurt the woman were found with blood stains such as a knife, an iron, an electric plug, a mop, and an electric hair curler. However, no illegal drug was found in the room as Chaichana said he used the drug during the live broadcast of the attack. The man was initially charged with physical and mentally assault, detention, drug abuse, and violations of Computer Crime Act. He may also face attempted murder charge. (TNA)
