Movie stars join in charity walking marathon

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, Oct 1 (TNA) - Popular entertainers and movie stars early today participated in a charity walking marathon from Hua Hin resort district to Bangkok’s Siriraj Hospital to mobilise funds, which will be spent on buying necessary medical equipment for the hospital. The activity is aimed at mobilising funds from the public along the highway with the total distance of 194 kilometres. Lukkade Metinee Kingpayome, Mario Maurer and Janie Tienphosuwan are among participants. Celebrities stood in silence for 89 seconds to pay tribute to His Majesty late King Bhumibol Adulyadej before they started charity walking amid cheers by their fans. Highway policemen escort them throughout the entire distance which ends October 7. So far, public donations amounted over one million baht in just only a few hours after the stars began the charity walk. (TNA)
