Mowasalat Marks National Sports Day

Doha, February 09 (QNA) - Mowasalat company (Karwa) has participated in the National Sports Day, an annual practice it follows in implementation of the generous initiative launched by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in Emiri Decision No. 80 of 2011 on holding a national sports day. "Mowasalat, as national transport provider with a huge employee count of drivers is keen to promote the culture of fitness and health encouraging sports activities throughout the year with the company's teams participating in various national tournaments and make exercising and fitness programs to be considered as an integral part of the daily routine of life as a motivation to genuinely start on this healthy pattern and turn it from mere a competition into a lifestyle," Mowasalat CEO Khalid Nasser Al Hail said. "There is also recreation facilities and gym available for the employees to train and exercise," Al Hail added, stressing the company's keenness on participating and in the different events that comply with its social responsibility to support sustainable development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. Mowasalat has a large human capital of nearly 7310 employees, including drivers, support staff, and administration and management staff. The management earmarks a budget for staff motivation to ensure every employee stays motivated and connected and also gets a platform to exhibit their talent and skills and derive personal enjoyment and satisfaction. Competitions held included a marathon, relay race, basketball and football matches, and penalty shootout. (QNA)
