MP Holds Washington, Western And International Organizations Responsible For Protecting Minorities In The Country

BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the State of Law Coalition, Hanin Qadu held the United States, Western countries and international organizations responsible for protecting minorities in the country "because they are exposed to terror acts from the Islamic State and Baath." He told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "The United States and other Western countries were the reason why the country has suffered from terrorist acts, so they have to provide assistance to minorities which are being targeted and killed by the terrorist groups." He added " minorities, including Christian component, were subjected to murder and looting in order to change their areas demographically." He explained that "the international organizations concerned with human rights and humanitarian aid did not move until now to help minorities and they should move effectively in Nineveh and Kirkuk by creating safe areas to provide assistance because the government, until now, has not been unable to protect minorities or provide them with assistance." It is mentioned that hundreds of Christian families in Mosul fled to safe areas in the province of Nineveh and the Kurdistan region, after the terrorists of the Islamic State threatened them to face death unless they change their religion or leave the city or pay money for protection. / End
