M'sia's Foreign Minister Leads Delegation To 42nd ICFM In Kuwait Wednesday

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), May 26 (Bernama) -- Foreign Minister Anifah Aman will lead the Malaysian delegation to the 42nd Session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Council of Foreign Ministers (42nd ICFM) in Kuwait, beginning Wednesday. According to Wisma Putra (Foreign Ministry) statement Tuesday, the two-day meeting would provide a platform for the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) member states to discuss the way forward in resolving the issues of terrorism, violent extremist and Islamphobia. During the meeting, Anifah will deliver a national statement that, among others, underlines Malaysia’s position on the Palestinian issue, as well as address issues related to the theme of the meeting. It added that Anifah would meet with his counterparts to discuss issues of mutual concern and interest. It said Malaysia’s participation at the meeting, themed 'Joint Vision to Strengthen Tolerance and Reject Terrorism' is a testament of Malaysia’s commitment to the OIC’s efforts in addressing the current issues and challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah. Malaysia has been a member of OIC since its establishment in 1969. The OIC works to safeguard the interests and well-being of all Muslims in the world. It also aims to strengthen cooperation in the political, economic, social, cultural and scientific fields. -- BERNAMA
