Muliaman Ronald Elected New BI Deputy Governors

Jakarta, Dec 8 (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives (DPR) elected Muliaman D Hadad and Ronald Waas new Bank Indonesia deputy governors by votes on Wednesday night. Members of the House Commission XI resorted to votes after they failed to reach an agreement on two names of candidates to be elected. Muliaman won 38 out of 55 votes cast by members of the House Commission XI leaving Riswinandi behind with 17 votes. Meanwhile, Ronald Waas gained 37 votes, defeating Perry Warjiyo with 18 votes. Muliaman is currently Bank Indonesia deputy governor and Ronald Waas is director of the bank`s accounting and payment system. Riswinandi is deputy director of state-owned Bank Mandiri and Perry is director of Bank Indonesia`s economic research and monetary policies.
