Multaqa Zayed National Museum launches ‘National Museum, National Identity’

Abu Dhabi, 29 January 2015 (WAM): The Multaqa Zayed National Museum series of talks began on Tuesday at Manarat al Saadiyat with a talk entitled "National Museum, National Identity". Bringing the Zayed National Museum narrative to life, the panel discussion was led by Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum, and moderated by Salama Al Shamsi, Project Manager of Zayed National Museum, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi. Organised by TCA Abu Dhabi, the series will hold 5 panel discussions between January and May focusing on the Museum narrative themes. On the 18th February, "Unearthing a Rich History", 18th March, "Al Nayhan Sheiks: Governance, Politics and Diplomacy", 16th April, "The Emergence of a Great Leader", and 20th May, "The Five Year Plan". Introducing the Zayed National Museum to the public, and telling the story of the UAE through the life and achievements of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the series will take place across the emirate with lectures in various locations including Manarat Al Saadiyat, Qasr Al Hosn and Al Ain Palace Museum. The Zayed National Museum will be the National Museum of the UAE and through Sheikh Zayed, the Father of the Nation, it will tell the story of the UAE and its connections with the Middle East and the wider world.
