Muntajat and Qatar's Producing Entities Participate in GPCA Annual Forum

Dubai, November 24 (QNA) - Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) and Qatar's leading producing entities have joined forces to represent the State of Qatar's chemical and petrochemical industry at the Gulf region's largest industry event, the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) Annual Forum 2014. The GPCA Annual Forum, now in its 9th edition, is running from 23 to 25 November in Dubai, UAE. Recognised as the flagship event of the petrochemical and chemical industry in the Middle East, the GPCA Annual Forum brings industry leaders from more than 39 countries. This year's forum main theme and discussions revolved around the Strategic Direction of the Chemical Industry. Muntajat and Qatar producing entities have represented and promoted the State of Qatar's chemical and petrochemical industry. The Qatar pavilion received many delegations who visited the stand to enquire about Qatar's chemical and petrochemical sector. Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdulla, Chief Executive Officer of Muntajat, commented on the participation: "We are delighted to return to the GPCA Annual Forum to meet and discuss with peers and colleagues the strategic direction of the region's industry. This year's meeting brought great discussion on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the Gulf's downstream industry. Launching the next stage of its commercial activities, Muntajat's global marketing subsidiary is building its presence through the establishment of a network of Local Marketing Offices worldwide that will serve both local customers and customers in nearby countries. "Over the past year, Muntajat has established its global marketing subsidiary which has already opened 16 international offices worldwide. This expansion brought our operation closer to our global customers. Our aim at Muntajat is to broaden the market for the chemicals and petrochemicals produced in the State of Qatar, which also serves to grow the prominence of the Gulf region on the global marketplace." Commenting on their joint participation with Muntajat in the GPCA Annual Forum, Dr. Mohammed Yousef Al-Mulla, CEO and Vice Chairman of QAPCO and QATOFIN, said: "As the pioneer in petrochemical production in the GCC and as a founding member of the GPCA , we are delighted to participate in this much-anticipated GPCA summit. Along with Qatar's downstream producing entities, we are proud to represent together the strength of our national petrochemical industry and highlight the magnitude of the contribution of "Made in Qatar" petrochemicals". Ahmed Al-Emadi, General Manager, Qatar Chemical Company Limited (QChem , QChem -II), commented: "The GPCA Annual Forum is an important opportunity for the downstream industry to come together. Since starting its operations in February 2013, Muntajat has migrated the marketing, sales and distribution activities of 90% of chemicals, polymers and fertilisers produced in the State of Qatar, and it's on its way to complete the full migration in the following weeks. Muntajat is delivering on its promise to be the gateway for Qatar's chemical and petrochemical products with more than 15 million tonnes of chemicals, polymers and fertilisers shipped to more than 120 countries around the world since Muntajat started its operations on February 1st, 2013.
