Music Museum of Iran gets new recording studio

TEHRAN,Aug.31(MNA) – A newly-established recording studio located in the Music Museum of Iran was inaugurated here on Thursday during a ceremony attended by a group of musicians and cineastes. Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati, Tehran Mayor Mohammad-BaqerQalibaf, and the new Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs and also the museum curator Ali Moradkhani were among the participants at the ceremony, Persian news agencies have reported. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Moradkhani said that the entire complex working as the Music Museum of Iran is the outcome of the great efforts carried out by the mayor. “I am glad to have been able to provide a rich collection of musical instruments and maestros’ paraphernalia here in this museum, which I believe is unique in its kind,” he said. He added, “A great number of foreign ambassadors have visited this location and I overheard some of them saying that they had found their dreams in this location.” Former conductor of Iran’s National Orchestra FarhadFakhreddini regarded the establishment of the studio a valuable step in producing musical compositions and asked the culture minister to help improve the status of Iran’s music with the help of musicians. In his brief speech,pop singer KhashayarEtemadi emphasized the importance of equipping the recording studios based on international standards, establishing special halls for pop concerts, and providing the facilities for the studios. “I believe the museum is a valuable treasure of musical instruments and a great honor for our country,”Jannati said in his short speech. He expressed his happiness that the studio has been established in the museum and hoped it would turn into a center where musicians can get together and continue their activities. The studio next began its activity symbolically by recording the first song by master singer ShahramNazeri and veteran nay player Mohammad Musavi. Veteran tar and setar player KeivanSaket, singer AlirezaQorbani, musicians ShahinFarhat and KambizRoshanravan, cineaste Mohammad-Mehdi Asgarpur and pop singers Mohsen Yeganeh and Benyamin Bahadori were among the participants.
