Myanmar Supreme Commander visits Thailand

BANGKOK, July 4 (TNA) - Myanmar Supreme Commander General Min Aung Hlaing is paying a two-day official visit to Thailand, scheduled for July 3-4, as a guest of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Thai Supreme Commander General Tanasak Patimapragorn, who is also a deputy chief of the army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), welcomed his Myanmar counterpart at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters on the outskirts of Bangkok on Friday morning. The Myanmar and Thai armed forces chiefs inspected a guard of honor and the Myanmar supreme commander then signed his name in the visiting book, before having bilateral talks with his Thai counterpart. The visiting Myanmar supreme commander is also scheduled to meet Thai Stateman and Privy Council President General Prem Tinsulanonda, who is also a former prime minister, at his Si Sao Theves residence in the capital and to then meet Thai Army and NCPO Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha on Friday afternoon.
