Myanmar workers construct Shwedagon Pagoda replica to pay tribute to late Thai King

SONGKHLA, THAILAND, October 19 (TNA) - Myanmar migrants who have lived and worked in Thailand for decades have expressed their highest gratitude to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and joined hands to construct a Shwedagon Pagoda replica in Songkhla Province in the Thai Far South to pay tribute to the late and beloved Thai King. A male Myanmar worker who heads the Thai-Myanmar Pagoda construction panel told journalists on Wednesday that all Myanmar workers in Thailand are feeling the same sorrow as the Thai people once learning on the late and beloved Thai monarch's passing last Thursday afternoon. The Myanmar labour leader said the Myanmar workers have joined hands to construct the Shwedagon Pagoda replica at the Klong Hae Temple in Songkhla's Hat Yai area since 2014 as a symbol of their greatest gratitude for late His Majesty the King's kindness. The leading Myanmar worker noted that the pagoda has been 90 per cent completed and the construction will be carried on until it is fully completed, expected by the first quarter of 2017, with a total budget of at least 30 million baht to pay tribute to the late and revered Thai King. According to the leading Myanmar worker, the Shwedagon Pagoda replica, once completed, will become a centrality for all Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand and an expression of the Myanmar migrants' highest gratitude to late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
