Myanmar's supreme commander visits Thailand

BANGKOK, May 28 (TNA) - Myanmar Supreme Commander General Min Aung Hlaing is leading his delegation to visit Thailand from May 27-29 as the guests of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, aimed to strengthen military ties and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. After his arrival in Thailand on Tuesday, the Myanmar armed forces chief was then officially received and welcome by his Thai counterpart General Thanasak Patimaprakorn at the Royal Thai Armed Forces' headquarters, including his review of guards of honour and a ceremony to present him a royal decoration for his honour. The ongoing three-day trip to Thailand by the Myanmar's supreme commander is believed to level up bilateral military ties and cooperation between the two neighbours in the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and to lead to enhanced military and security cooperation in the region as a whole. During his stay in Thailand, the visiting Myanmar armed forces chief is also scheduled to visit the Animal Breeding Extension Division in Chachoengsao Province in the East. (TNA)
