NACC discloses assets of some Cabinet members

BANGKOK, October 24 (TNA) - The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has disclosed assets and liabilities of some former members of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) who recently resigned to take up their ministerial posts in the interim government of Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha. According to the NACC's Friday report, incumbent Public Health Minister Dr. Rajata Rajatanavin and his spouse have their total asset of 139.27 million baht, an increase of 678,939 baht after leaving his NLA seat, with no liability. Deputy Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith and his spouse have their total asset of about 24.77 million baht, with their total liability of about 1.18 million baht. Arkhom's wife did not declare her money in deposit when Arkhom was appointed an NLA member, reasoning that she had lost her banks’account books. Energy Minister Narongchai Akrasanee and his spouse have their total asset of about 281.35 million baht, with their total liability of 85,389 baht. Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul and her spouse have their total asset of about 317.67 million baht with their total liability of 568,707 baht. Deputy Education Minister Lieutenant General Surachet Chaiyawong and his spouse have their total asset of 24.3 million baht, with their total liability of 7.37 million baht. The anti-graft commission is scheduled to announce assets and liabilities of the entire Thai Cabinet on October 31, 2014. (TNA)
