Nahyan receives Friends of Cancer Patients delegation

Abu Dhabi (WAM): Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, on Tuesday received a delegation from the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) led by Ameera bin Karam, President of the Board of Trustees and a founding member of the charitable society. In his remarks at the meeting, Sheikh Nahyan affirmed that U.A.E., under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, backs all charitable and humanitarian work in U.A.E. and overseas. Sheikh Nahyan also hailed the efforts of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed AI-Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, International Ambassador of the World Cancer Declaration for Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and International Ambassador for Childhood Cancer for UICC. Sheikha Jawaher, who is wife of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, founded FOCP in 1999 Sheikh Nahyan is patron of the annual Oil Baron's Charity Ball fundraiser which proceedings were utilised by FoCP for funding its various cancer-related initiatives; including supporting patients for costly cancer treatments in U.A.E. and overseas. Theatrical show Children for Peace to be held on June 13 Under the patronage of Sheikha Fatima bint Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the "Children for Peace" ballet show will be held on 13th of June at Al Jahili Theatre, in the Armed Forces Officers Club, Abu Dhabi. This enchanting show tells the story of Abu Dhabi s modern life through folkloric dances from all over the world, including ballet, rock-n-roll, and others.
