Najib Congratulates New Sri Lanka President Sirisena

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 12 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak Saturday extended congratulations to Maithripala Sirisena on his election as Sri Lanka's new president. "Congratulations and best wishes to the newly-elected President of Sri Lanka @SLPresMait," he said in a post on Twitter. A veteran politician, Sirisena, 63, claimed victory over incumbent Mahinda Rajapaksa in Sri Lanka's election on Thursday.
