NAM News Agency, Capable Of Giving Full Coverage To Tehran Summit: IRNA Chief

Tehran, Aug 22, IRNA - Managing Director of Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Ali-Akbar Javanfekr said the international Non-Aligned Movement News Agency (NAMNA) is capable of full media coverage of the upcoming NAM Summit in Tehran. In an Exclusive Interview with NAMNA, Javanfekr referred to the high importance of applying all capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), news agencies and the printed media for media coverage of the NAM summit. On position of NAM in the contemporary world, he said today the US has created a unilateral condition by following a unipolar system. "Non-Aligned Movement, comprising independent nations, is the sole voice which speaks of justice from a legal position in international arena", he continued. Egypt, as the ex-president of NAM, has been subjected to many ups and downs in the past years, and since this country was ruled by a dictator, the movement could not reach its desired goals, added the IRNA chief. Pointing to the presidency of Iran over NAM in the next three years, he expressed the hope that the movement could use all its capacities in order to play key roles in the global developments. He reiterated that in the past seven years, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has had an effective presence in the global tribunes and has challenged the international arrogant system, led by Washington. He noted that due to Iran's high economic and political potentials, the country's presidency over the NAM would have fruitful results. Javanfekr referred to hostile measures taken to portray Iran as an isolated country in international arena, saying Washington and Tel Aviv have always tried to isolate the Islamic Republic. Javanfekr who is also the Presidential press and media adviser added that the presence of heads of states and their delegates in the upcoming event will disappoint the enemies, stressing that the efforts of bullying powers to fail the summit would be vain. With regard to media coverage of the 16th NAM summit, Javanfekr said the media coverage of the event is of great importance./end
