Names of 2 Japanese on Crashed Plane's Passenger List Unveiled

Tokyo, March 25 (Jiji Press)--Japan's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday announced the names of two Japanese who were on the boarding list of a Germanwings airplane that crashed in southeastern France on Tuesday. They are Satoshi Nagata, in his 60s, and Junichi Sato, in his 40s, both residents in Dusseldorf, western Germany, the ministry said. In talks with reporters in Tokyo on Wednesday morning, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that the government is trying to confirm their safety. The Dusseldorf-bound Airbus A320 jet operated by Germanwings, a low-cost carrier affiliated with major German airline Lufthansa, lost contact shortly after departing from Barcelona on Tuesday morning local time. Wreckage has been found near the French Alps resort of Barcelonnette, according to French authorities. A total of 150 people--144 passengers and six crew members--were aboard the aircraft. French President Francois Hollande said that no one appears to have survived the crash. END
