NARIT invites public to witness astrological phenomenon

BANGKOK, Feb 6 (TNA) -- The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) is inviting the public to watch an astronomical phenomenon of planets conjunction during the Chinese New Year 2016 celebrations on February 6-7. NARIT Deputy Director Prof Sarun Posayajinda said there would an astrological occurrence to usher in the Chinese New Year during the dawns of February 6-7 called the planets conjunction. He informed that some parts of the crescent Moon would move closer to Mercury and Venus. He said in order to witness the occurrence, the observer must turn to face in the direction of northeast, where the occurrence is best viewed at around 6.15-6.30 am, local time, before the sun rises. Prof Sarun added that if anyone missed the astrological beauty on both days, other occurrences would still happen throughout February, including the visibility of all the five planets and the heart of the Milky Way Galaxy.
