National Day/ Foreign Minister Says National Day an Occasion to Continue Qatar's Achievements

Doha, December 17 (QNA) - HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khaled bin Mohammed Al Attiyah extended his sincere congratulations on the occasion of Qatar National Day to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and to the people of Qatar on the occasion of National Day. He also wished the wise leadership continued success in advancing the State of Qatar to further prosperity and growth. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on Qatar National Day, HE the Foreign Minister said: "Celebrating this dear occasion represents an important basis to continue the process of achievements made by Qatar under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and carry on what was achieved during the reign of HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani". "Those achievements are, as well, a natural extension of national history and old civilizational legacy since the era of the Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, who laid the foundations for a strong and modern state open to the outside world as well as consolidated the values of justice, truthfulness and honesty based on our religion and Arab heritage," HE Al Attiyah added. "Over a short period, the State of Qatar managed to succeed in creating a real economic and social development resulting from the far-sightedness initiated by HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani in 1995 and is led by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani," said Dr Al Attiyah, underlining the role that young people should assume in order to promote the position of Qatar. HE the Foreign Minister touched on the contribution of the State of Qatar and its serious and sincere efforts at the regional and international levels for the good of humanity through its crucial and informed diplomacy, adding that the foreign policy of the State of Qatar is based on unshakeable principles to promote the establishment of peace, security and stability, respect for human rights and support of peoples by working with regional and international systems. Dr Al Attiyah stressed the Foreign Ministrys determination to continue its role in support of the country's process towards development and its goals in accordance with the vision articulated by the wise leadership, as well as through humanitarian contributions presented by Qatar to alleviate the suffering of those affected by natural disasters, wars and conflicts, in addition to taking mediation roles to settle conflicts and ease tensions in the region and the world.
