National Day/ Lekhwiya: National Day an Occasion to Remember the Founder of Qatar

Doha, December 17 (QNA) - Brigadier General Ali bin Mohammed Rashed, commander of special operations at the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), said the National Day is an important occasion to remember the greatness of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammad Bin Thani, the Founder (May Allah have mercy on him), who was able to bring together the people of Qatar to continue the blessed march and enjoy living at their homeland in prosperity and security under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the National Day, Brigadier Rashed has extended his congratulations to HH the Emir, HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Qatari people on this occasion, praying to God Almighty to perpetuate the blessing of safety and security in our beloved homeland. He expressed Lekhwiyas pride to take part of the National Day Celebrations through its participation in the parade, ensuring the safety of dignitaries, who will be attending the show, securing the other side events and celebrations and facilitating traffic during this great day. Excellence and distinction are the main standards for the implementation of Lekhwiyas tasks and mission, which has imposed challenges that require more efforts to improve performance to the highest and best levels of quality, Brigadier Rashed said, noting that the implementation of its tasks requires the special and unusual skills to protect the country's security. For his part, Director of Training and Courses at Internal Security Force Brig. Mahdi Mutlaq Al Qahtani, said the National Day confirms the belonging and loyalty to the homeland, enhances peoples support to the wise leadership and contributes to a closer relationship between citizens. He added that the celebration of the National Day is an occasion not only to remember all the values, sacrifices and great efforts that have accompanied the foundation of modern Qatar but also to express our love and appreciation for this blessed land and our wise leadership, to whom we are grateful for spreading safety , security and stability. On the preparations for the National Day, said Brig. Al Qahtani said Lekhwiya begins trainings immediately after the completion of the National Day Celebrations, referring in this context to the intense workouts conducted in preparation for the parade, involving all its groups and reflecting its role to maintain the security and safety of the nation. He also emphasized the importance of the advanced training for Lekhwiya employees in preparation for this grand occasion, stressing that the training is an important factor to develop a comprehensive and distinguished work system in order to perform its role efficiently. For his part, Brigadier Khalid Abdullah Al Houti, Commander of the VIP Protection Group at Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), said: "we as sons of this country, we are happy today to mark Qatar National Day, which materializes many lessons and memoirs about the founding commander, expressing pride for the civilizational and developmental achievements accomplished in the various walks of life, and which contributed to the development of this homeland." Brigadier Al Houti added that the celebrations marking the National Day gives a good feeling to every individual living on the soil of this country and clearly materializes the bonds of amity and the values of strong bonds between the people and their rational leadership, and it also represents a symbol for the materialization of the affiliation to the homeland laid by the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani (God Bless his Soul) . After him rulers of Qatar followed this successful drive until Qatar became a state highly appreciated at the international fora, thanks to the achievements realized at all levels to enable it assume a high status among the civilized nations of the world while, at the same time, maintaining the originality, heritage, customs and traditions for which our country, Qatar is distinguished, Brigadier Al Houti said. He added that anyone living on the soil of Qatar feels the development and growth which conspicuously express the renaissance which our dear country is passing through during this remarkable epoch of its contemporary history in all fields, stressing that Lekhwiya is an inseparable part of this cluster. All that could not have been achieved without the enhanced safety and security, and here comes the role of Lekhwiya in supporting all the organs of the state. On the occasion of Qatar National Day, Brigadier Ghanim Mubarak Al Hedaifi , a Lekhwiya commander, said the National Day anniversary is a dear occasion which makes it incumbent upon every citizen to meditate and recall the drive of years of giving in order to show his mettle and strengthen himself to become an extension to the forefathers who paved the road and provided us with the opportunity towards the prospects of the future to add another brick to the positioning edifice that gave an example to be followed by everyone. He said this day provided an opportunity to reassure the affiliation to this homeland through the effort we provide in order to contribute to the glory of our beloved country Qatar, referring in this respect to the welfare and growth it achieved until it became an example in its regional circumference, in terms of stability, prosperity and development. On the participation of the group in the celebrations marking Qatar National Day, Brigadier Al Hedaifi said the group in general work in accordance with the integrated team at Lekhwiya force which is one of the main elements participating in the national parade, noting that state-of-the-art equipment will be displayed during the military parade. In addition, Lakwiya will participate in securing all the celebrations sites and in securing the fireworks shows which will coincide with the celebrations, Brigadier Al Hedaifi said. He called on all citizens and residents to enjoy the atmosphere of the cerebrations so that a distinguished day free of incident will come to being, and urged for adherence to instructions of security officials, especially that measures to be taken during the celebrations will be for the security and safety of the public.
