National Day/ Syrian Ambassador Greets Qatar on National Day, Hails Qatari Support for Syrian People

Doha, December 09 (QNA) - HE the Syrian Ambassador to Qatar Nizar Hassan Al-Haraki extended greetings to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and to the Qatari Government and people on the occasion of Qatar National Day, wishing the State of Qatar further prosperity in the light of progress that prevailed at all levels. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), on the occasion of the National Day of Qatar, Ambassador Al-Haraki hailed the sacrifices of the State's Founders, stressing that Late Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, the Founder of the State of Qatar, has become a role model for the work and achievement. In a related context he added "It is true that Qatar is an emerging and prosperous nation, but its history cannot be forgotten." "I have reviewed the history of Qatar, and attended some of the exhibitions and conferences, and found these positive surprise in terms of the linking between the past and the present and the young people's association with the founder of the State," he said, adding that such positive response demonstrates adherence to the past just like they adhere to the present. He noted to the progress and development witnessed in Qatar under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and his predecessor, HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, saying that the progress and prosperity in the infrastructure, urban development, architecture and economy, reflect Qatar's ability to adapt and progress towards realizing the best interest of its people. The Syrian Ambassador praised the positions of the State of Qatar in the support of the Syrian people and their revolution, saying that it is unforgettable support. He pointed out that Qatar was one of the first countries to extend a helping hand and still aiding the Syrian people on political, relief and diplomatic levels. He went on saying that the only Syrian embassy in the world is in Doha, explaining that Qatar has done what was difficult even for the major powers which shows the confidence of the Qatari leadership and their determination to assist the Syrian people in words and deeds. He noted, in this context, to the Qatari charity organizations which have been the biggest supporters to the Syrian people at home or in the neighboring countries, in addition to the Qatari support for Syria in all the international forums. Ambassador Al-Haraki lauded the speech of HH the Emir before the United Nations General Assembly when His Highness said that Bashar Al-Assad is the cause of the crisis in Syria. "What we found in Qatar is love, appreciation and kindness toward the Syrian people," he said, adding this left a profound impact in hearts of Syrians. It also indicates the sincerity of the Qatari people towards the issues of the Arab and Islamic nation. The Syrian people will never forget the assistance of the Qatari leadership and people, he said. (QNA)
