National Library Receives 300 Items From US Embassy

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- The National Library (PNM) Tuesday received 300 reading items, including books, compact discs and DVDs from the United States (US) Embassy in Malaysia. Entitled American Shelf Collection, the collection which portrays the US' rich intellectual heritage also cover American society, politics, culture and its role in international affairs. PNM director-general Raslin Abu Bakar said the collection would help the library to enrich its book collection and promote educational cooperation between two countries. "I am confident the books will help Malaysians learn and understand more about the US, thus strengthening the bilateral cooperation to a higher level," he told reporters after a handing-over ceremony at the National Library here Tuesday.
