National park rangers exercise rescue operations to protect tourists

NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Dec 26 (TNA) – The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation launches its tourist safety project with a tourist rescue exercise at the Khao Yai National Park. In the drill, national park rangers set up a situation in which a chartered plane exploded after a crash-landing near a reservoir and about 20 people were injured. Rescue workers including doctors rushed to the scene by land, water and air. National parks welcome about 19 million visitors yearly. This year 382 tourists were injured and 37 others died in national parks. The exercise is expected to prepare park rangers to effectively save tourists who are in trouble. (TNA)
