National Security Adviser, Russian Ambassador Discuss Developing Bilateral Relations

Baghdad / NINA /- The National Security Adviser, Qasim Al-Araji, received in his office today, Sunday, the Russian ambassador in Baghdad, Maxim Maximov. A statement of the media office of the National Security Adviser, which the National Iraqi News Agency NINA received a copy of it, stated that "Al-Araji discussed with the Russian ambassador issues of common interest, cooperation between the two countries, and ways to develop relations between Iraq and Russia, including the security and stability of the region. Al-Araji stressed the importance of continuing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of armaments, expressing his aspiration for the Iraqi-Russian relations to witness further development, in the interest of the two friendly countries. The meeting also witnessed a discussion of Al-Hol camp file on the Iraqi-Syrian border, and the importance of working on exchanging information, to secure the Iraqi borders and prevent terrorist infiltration, in addition to joint cooperation in the field of combating terrorism. For his part, the Russian ambassador expressed his happiness at the growing relationship between Baghdad and Moscow, stressing that his country is ready to cooperate with Iraq in all fields. / End
