Nationwide celebrations prepared for Thailand's Queen birthday

BANGKOK, May 29 (TNA) - The Thai government, through the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with provincial and community authorities, will organize activities nationwide early next month to celebrate the birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Suthida. Permanent Secretary for Interior Chatchai Promlert told journalists on Wednesday that the nationwide celebrating activities will be held in Bangkok and all other Thai provinces during June 1-10. Chatchai stated that the nationwide activities on June 3, the birthday anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen, will include mass alms offering ceremonies to 41 Buddhist monks in the early morning and simultaneous candle lighting ceremonies in the evening at the Saman Luang ceremonial ground in Bangkok and provincial halls. Besides, there will be public services in targeted areas across Thailand conducted by volunteers, as well as charity activities for the underprivileged and the elderly. In Bangkok, the senior official said, the Ministry of Interior will launch a special service on issuing or renewing identity cards (ID cards) to people at the Sanam Luang ceremonial ground during June 1-3, in parallel with other activities to be organized by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). According to the senior Thai official, people are also invited to write their best wishes, with the signing of their names, for Her Majesty the Queen during June 1-10 at either provincial halls, or district and local administrative offices across the country, where decorations will also be arranged in honor of Her Majesty the Queen during the same 10-day period.
