Nat'l Festival Of Local Potage Varieties Opens In Zanjan

Zanjan, May 17, IRNA – The 9th National Festival of a variety of local potages opened Friday in the northwestern province of Zanjan. Especial kinds of Iranian cuisine of stews and potages called ˈAashˈ are cooked with particular ingredients in different parts of the country. The festival will continue till May 20. According to the local tourism official, Yahya Nemati, 25 provinces are participating in the event. Twenty world countries, too, are displaying their cooking customs during the occasion as well. The Iranian provinces attending the festival are also offering their local costumes and traditions to the visitors. Some 35 types of Aash are being cooked during the festival for estimated number of 15,000 visitors everyday./end
