NBTC:Radio stations need to follow law

BANGKOK, April 11 (TNA) - Operators of radio stations who fail to heed the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC)'s order will face a punishment in accordance with the law issued in 2008. A total of 160 radio stations in Thailand were ordered to suspend operations immediately after they had failed to renew operating licences, said NBTC Secretary-General Takorn Tantasith on Saturday. Takorn told journalists that the 160 radio stations were ordered to stop operations, following meetings held by NBTC in February and March 2015 that they did not apply for renewal of business licence within the specified period. However, the operators are allowed to apply for the business licence later, Takorn said. (TNA)
