Nearly 30 foreign criminal suspects nabbed in Thailand

BANGKOK, January 10 (TNA) - The Royal Thai police has announced the arrest of 28 foreign criminal suspects in the country, following its integrated work with the Interpol, foreign embassies and other relevant agencies over the past one month. According to the Royal Thai Police, the 28 foreign criminal suspects are wanted under arrest warrants, issued in foreign countries, on charges of transnational crime, fraud, murder, as well as drug and pornographic offenses. The 28 suspects, apprehended by the Thai police, include Chinese, South Korean, British, American, Russian, Italian, German, Czech, Turkish and New Zealand nationals, who had hidden in Thailand and who are among a total of 34 wanted by the police in their respective countries. Meanwhile, Police Lieutenant General Surachet Hakpan, Chief of the Immigration Bureau, told journalists on Thursday that Thai police forces have hunted for the 28 foreign suspects over the past one month and seized their passports, before sending them to their respective countries for prosecution.
