NEDA,TU to help enhance accountants' capability of neighbouring countries

BANGKOK, March 11 (TNA) - Thailand’s Neighbouring Countries Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), under the Ministry of Finance, has inked an agreement with the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy of Thammasat University (TU) to create a networking cooperation between the two sides to help enhance the capability of accountants of neighbouring countries. NEDA Assistant Director Teerasak Mongkolpod signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dean of TU’s Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy Professor Dr. Siriluk Rojanakid at NEDA headquarters in Bangkok on Tuesday. Under the MOU, both sides agree to create an academic networking and provide knowledge on commerce and accountancy to neighbouring countries to enhance their accountants’ competency to meet the world’s standards. Both agencies also believe that the support should pave the way for Thailand’s private sector to expand investment into neighbouring countries, as the ASEAN Community (AC) is scheduled to be formed by 2015. Two main courses have been worked out by both agencies in providing academic-base knowledge to accountants of neighbouring countries, including, Graduate Diploma Program in Property Valuation (GPV2) and Graduate Program in Business Administration Focused on Accounting. Other courses will later be introduced, once they are agreed upon by the two sides. All of the courses set under the MOU are aimed to help develop accountants in neighbouring countries on the sustainable basis. (TNA)
