New anti-human trafficking centre opened at Labour Ministry

BANGKOK, Oct 16 (TNA) -- The Labour Ministry has opened its anti-human trafficking centre to tackle trafficking in persons related to labour at the ministry headquarters. Opening the center on the 7th floor of the ministry on Oct 16, Puntrik Smiti, permanent secretary for labour, said the establishment of the centre proved the ministry's determination to solve human trafficking problems concerning labour issue. The centre would facilitate and monitor the work of all organisations concerning the issue, work out action plans, report progress of solutions weekly to the labour minister and do the annual report on human trafficking in 2015, said Puntrik who is also the director of the new center. She added that the Labour Ministry had short, medium and long-term plans to tackle human trafficking among labourers. (TNA)
