New Azerbaijan Party, Japanese Liberal Democratic Party

Tokyo, August 28, AZERTAC Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov has met Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan, chairman of the Office of External Relations, MP Yasukazu Hamada during his visit to Tokyo. The meeting was attended by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Japan Gursel Ismailzade and MPs from the LDP Toshinao Nakagawa and Keitaro Ono. The sides discussed cooperation between New Azerbaijan Party and Japanese Liberal Democratic Party. Mr Hasanov stressed the importance of mutual visits in terms of the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Japan. He highlighted the history of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which gained its independence in the early 20th century. The Azerbaijani deputy Prime Minister said that the democratic progress achieved in that time was successfully continued at the end of the century after Azerbaijan restored its independence. According to Mr Hasanov, cooperation between the ruling parties of the two countries can make an important contribution to the development of relations between the two friendly nations. Expressing confidence that the negotiations conducted on this front will give positive results, he invited Japanese counterparts to visit Azerbaijan. Mr Hamada said Japan is interested in establishing high level relations with Azerbaijan. He noted that Japan recognizes the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. Mr Hamada expressed confidence that historical justice will be restored, and the occupied lands of Azerbaijan will be liberated. Reaffirming that cooperation between the ruling parties of two countries will be productive for both sides, he stressed the importance of building relations between young people and organizing mutual visits.
